Streams/Waikamoi
IIFS Status: Diverted but partially restored by 2014 Contested Case.
Other Names and Branches: Wahinepe’e
Current Situation: Restoration order.

DAR Report: Link
IFSAR Report: Link
License Area: Huelo
Additional Information: The hydrological unit is called Waikamoi but within it are two streams, the Waikamoi and the Wahinepe’e. There is some disagreement between the IFSAR map and the EMI map as to the size of the streams. Only the Waikamoi is diverted. That happens three times – once at Manuel Luis Ditch, once at Spreckels Ditch and once at Wailoa. Also diverted for MDWS.
Notes:
- DAR = Division of Aquatic Resources. These guys assess stream biota.
- IFSAR = Instream Flow Standard Assessment Report. This study focuses on hydrology, flow and water uses.
- IIFS = Interim Instream Flow Standard
- PAIFS = Petition to Amend Instream Flow Standard. You can read the PAIFS here.
- §13-169-44 = Statutory requirement for Instream Flow. This is the fallback the CWRM uses in the absence of historical flow data. Basically it locks in whatever the situation was for the stream in 1988. You can read about it here.
